Adobe verspricht die “besten Tools der Welt für HTML5″.

Schon eine Weile her, aber wichtig. Daher hier der wichtigste Satz aus einem TechCrunch-Interview mit Adobe (Kevin Lynch):
We’re going to make great tooling for HTML5. We’re going to make the best tools in the world for HTML 5.It’s not about HTML 5 vs Flash. They’re mutually beneficial.
Na endlich kehrt Vernunft ein.
Und hier der zweitwichtigste Satz:
Why should I only be able to use an iPhone for that? Why can’t you do that with any phone?
Darauf kann man jetzt aus drei Blickwinkeln antworten: Programmierer, Apple, End-User:
- Programmierer: Weil das Write-Once-Run-Everywhere zwar funktioniert, aber eben nicht gut. Jede VirtualMachine bzw. jedes RTE bremst.
- Apple: Wer hat’s erfunden? In diesem Fall nicht die Schweizer!
- End-User: Weil’s einfach funktioniert und ich mich nicht kümmern will. Und weil ich will, das alle Apps ähnlich funktionieren. Das ist im AppStore für iPad eh schon nicht 100% sichergestellt. Wie soll das noch diverser aussehen? Kraut und Rüben?
Und dann noch zum OpenScreenProjekt:
Have over 70 partners working with Adobe on that. There’s a lot of great devices coming out over the course of the second half of this year and next year, going forward. All the innovation coming from all those companies will dwarf what’s coming from that one company that isn’t participating.
Ich bin mal sehr gespannt wie diese ganze Patent-Klagerei ausgeht. Und dann wünsche ich dem OSP viel Glück und hoffe, die 70 können sich auf eine gemeinsame Linie einigen. Oder hat Adobe einen “Flash to rule them all”?
